Peggy Bohme
Executive Director
Peggy is co-founder and Executive Director of The WARM Place, which began offering service to children and their families in August 1989. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Clarion State University and did graduate studies in Guidance and Counseling at Penn State University. Peggy developed the agency program in 1988, as well as a national training program to assist other cities throughout the United States in developing similar grief support centers. She is responsible for overseeing all of the operations of the agency and implementing all policies as determined by the Board of Directors. She is currently an active member of the Association for Death and Counseling. In 2002, Peggy received the distinguished Hercules Professional Award.


Shirley Bowen
Volunteer Coordinator
Shirley Bowen joins The WARM Place staff after volunteering here as a facilitator since 2000. She received her Bachelor of Arts & Science Degree in Business Administration and Psychology from Dallas Baptist University and also did graduate studies in counseling there. Shirley recently retired from Sprint after more than 15 years in their Human Resources department. Her WARM Place responsibilities include recruiting and training volunteers from the community, overseeing our Speaker’s Bureau and working closely with our Program Director. She also greets and welcomes our group volunteers each evening.


Misty Brunette

Special Events Coordinator

Misty joined The WARM Place staff in 2007 after volunteering as a facilitator for three years.  She worked for Linbeck for over six years as a project coordinator.

Misty graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of North Texas.  Her primary responsibility at The WARM Place is supporting the development office in preparing for and executing all special events.

 


Tina Casey
Office Manager

Tina joined The WARM Place staff in 2004. She has worked for 14 years in the human resources area in the medical field. Tina also worked for five years as a substitute teacher in the Weatherford School District and was very involved in her school’s PTA, serving as president, treasurer and fundraising chairperson. At The WARM Place, Tina’s will usually be the friendly voice you hear when you call. Her other responsibilities include bookkeeping/accounting, and maintaining our donor and mailing lists.


Donna DeGrand
Counselor

Donna DeGrand joined The WARM Place staff in 2005, with twenty-eight years of experience in education and counseling.  She received a  Bachelor of Arts in  Elementary Education from Trinity University in San Antonio and holds a Masters of Education in Guidance and Counseling from T.C.U.  Donna is a Licensed Professional Counselor.  Her duties at The WARM Place include conducting family intake interviews, making professional referrals, directing groups and writing activities for them, training volunteer facilitators and educating the public on children's grief issues.

 


Vicki Johnson
Associate Executive Director

Vicki joined The WARM Place staff in 2002 as Director of Development and was named Associate Executive Director in 2004.  She received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science in Counseling and Student Services Degrees from the University of North Texas. Prior to that she was a WARM Place volunteer and part-time counselor for eight years. Her responsibilities include organizing and supervising an effective development program.


Kathy Telger
LPC-S, Program Director

Kathy has been with The WARM Place since 1994.. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and approved Supervisor for the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a Masters of Education in Counseling and Student Services. Her WARM Place responsibilities include conducting family intake interviews, supervising graduate counseling interns, making professional referrals, directing groups and writing activities for them, training volunteer facilitators and educating the public on children's grief issues.



Peggy Tomerlin
Program Assistant

Peggy joined our staff as a Program Assistant in 2007.  Peggy is retired from an 18 year career with Compass Group Food Service Company where she was a unit manager in several metroplex locations.  Her duties at The WARM Place include working closely with the counselors on program activities as well as organizing materials for each group night.

 


Emily Vick
Director of Community Relations
Emily joined our staff in 2002 and has a Bachelor of Science in Advertising degree from The University of Texas at Austin. She has worked in the marketing/public relations field for over sixteen years. At The WARM Place, Emily is responsible for writing and editing our newsletter and website, and the marketing of all special events and fundraisers.
