“A mother is like a flower – each one beautiful and unique.”
We recently asked some of the children’s groups to create a special flower arrangement and share something they love about their mom. The results were worthy of any florist shop and their sentiments were a great reminder of how important mothers and mother figures are in the lives of all they touch.
If you’d like to recreate the project at home, here’s how!
Supplies: cardstock, glue sticks, cut out colored construction paper shapes, cut out vase, markers.
Let children pick out a piece of colored card stock and glue a flowerpot to it. They can then choose shapes to glue on to the card stock to create their flower arrangement. On the back of the picture they can draw or write something they love about their mom – either in remembrance of her or to present to her for Mother’s Day.
Here are a few examples for inspiration.
