A Note From Shelley

A Note from Shelley: New Season of Hope and Healing

Spring is here, and The WARM Place is blooming with excitement and changes! Since this time last year, we have been constantly growing, changing, and learning to find creative ways to meet the needs of grieving families in our community within the parameters we’ve been given. The safety of our families, volunteers, and staff has always been our number one priority, and we have kept that at the forefront of all our decisions. This new season has brought new hope as things begin to improve with the pandemic. We are pleased to announce that after consulting with local health professionals and board members, we feel confident in returning to in-person grief support groups at this time! Our existing safety and health precautions will remain in place, and we will continue to monitor and evaluate COVID-19 conditions. We are so excited to meet in our group rooms once again, together, under one roof!

In addition to offering our in-person groups again, we are thrilled to offer virtual grief support groups to families who are not ready to return to in-person groups yet or who have been on our waiting list. Both in-person and virtual groups are starting this week, and we could not be more excited about serving more families! This expansion in services has led us to expand our program team. We look forward to welcoming a new full-time Group Director, new monitors, and our newest part-time Virtual Group Director! As you can see, there are many exciting things happening in our program.

The heart of our mission has remained the same throughout the pandemic and will continue to remain a constant priority. From the bottom of our hearts, we want to express immense gratitude to our families, volunteers, and donors. Without you, The WARM Place, and the work we do would not be possible. Thank you for your kindness, your patience, your compassion, and your support. Here’s to a new season of hope and healing!
