When we started planning for A Cool Night by Candlelight last year, we knew we wanted it to be special in honor of The WARM Place’s 30th anniversary. It took months of preparation, but our Cool Night committee and staff pulled off the biggest Cool Night yet! We are excited to announce that YOU helped us raise a gross total of over $388,000! We are so honored and in awe of your generosity and heart for The WARM Place.
Saturday, October 5th was a night to remember! The party was held at the beautiful River Crest Country Club. Guests arrived dressed to impress in their cocktail attire ready for a night of fun. The evening started with a cocktail hour, where guests were able to browse through hundreds of auction items including gorgeous pieces of jewelry presented by our exclusive jeweler of the night, Bachendorf’s.
After cocktail hour, guests enjoyed a selection of gourmet food. This delicious buffet included marinated flank steak, herb infused salmon, black forest chicken, and more. Arguably the best part of the menu was the Birthday Dessert Bar! It included a beautiful and decadent display of cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, and fruit tarts. Later that evening, guests enjoyed dancing the night away to popular cover hits performed by The Manhattan Band who brought the house down!
The food and music were spectacular, but let’s not forget about the record-breaking live auction and “Make A Difference Moment!” This year’s live auction offered unique packages and experiences including a Josh Weathers House Concert, Private Rodeo Box and Del Frisco’s Dinner for 8, Trip for Two to Barcelona, and more! After the live auction, guests participated in the biggest “Make a Difference Moment” in Cool Night history, raising over $60,000!
In honor of our 30th anniversary, a video highlighting our history was shown, followed by a special dedication in memory of our beloved Co-founder, Dr. John Richardson. Longtime friend and Board Member, Gordon Appleman, and Co-founder Peggy Bohme presented a plaque to the Richardson family, which will be permanently installed on the Wall of Memories at The WARM Place. Later that evening, our 2019 Impact Video was premiered, featuring a current WARM Place family. The Pierce family is a true testament to the mission of The WARM Place, and we were so honored to have had them in attendance that night.
Families like the Pierces are the reason we have A Cool Night. It is because of your support that we can help grieving children and their families during some of the hardest times of their lives. From day one, our Co-founders decided that families should not have to bear the financial burden of grief support, which is why The WARM Place was founded. With every donation you provide, you help to fulfill this mission.
