Do you or someone you know have a heart for working with children? Do you have a few hours each month to share your time with our families that have experience the death of a loved one? We would be honored to have you join The WARM Place team as a volunteer.
We are now accepting volunteer applications for our biggest volunteer need – GROUP FACILITATORS. But did you know, that with construction nearing completion, we will need more helpers in our expanded dining room and kitchen known as HOUSEPARENTS.
Remind me again, what does a facilitator do?
Group facilitators help lead discussion and explain activities to the children and teenagers in our evening support groups. You will need to complete our 16-hour training course that will help prepare you for working with families that have experienced the death of a loved one. Our next training session starts Tuesday, September 5th! Scroll down for the full training schedule.
Time commitment? 8 hours a month (4 hours for each group night)
Got it. What does a houseparent do?
Houseparents work in our kitchen and dining room during our potluck meal. You will welcome families as we sit and eat dinner together before evening groups begin at 7 pm. All training is on-the-job with another experienced houseparent to help set up and clean up after dinner. This is a great opportunity to show compassion and be a welcoming presence for TWP families.
Time commitment – 4 hours a month (2 hours for each group night)
