Spring 2018

Making a Life by What We Give

Winston Churchill once said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

We certainly find this to be true here at The WARM Place. Did you know that it takes more than 20 volunteers on each of our group nights to make our program possible? That is a LOT of dedicated folks who give of their time and their hearts to serve grieving families in our community.

Twice a year, we welcome a new group of Volunteer Group Facilitators in to our family after hosting a 22 hour training program. This training program consists of 5 sessions that are designed to prepare our volunteers to facilitate grief support groups. Each session covers a specific topic relating to children’s grief and bereavement. The training also teaches volunteers how to recognize their own grief triggers, how to be an active listener, and how to practice self-care.

If you have ever considered volunteering with The WARM Place – good news! We are now accepting volunteer applications for our Spring 2018 Training!
