Spring Blossoms: A Season of Inspiration and Restoration

Winter can be a time of going on “auto-pilot,” relying on the holidays, traditions, and pre-set schedules to drive our day to day. But as winter comes to an end, animals come out of hibernation and plants emerge from their state of dormancy. As we transition into spring, we can find inspiration in their restoration. Spring is a great time to reset, take advantage of renewed energy and refocus on what can help us blossom just as the flowers do.

Flowers need to be watered. It is important to ensure balance and moderation in the things that we ingest. Whether that be the literal food we intake, the media we consume, how we spend our time, or the things we say to ourselves.

Flowers need sunlight. Spending time outside positively impacts our physical and mental health. Sunlight exposure can improve mood, sleep, and even our immune system. This can look like a walk in the park, joining a recreational sports team, or a trip to a body of water.

Flowers need a suitable temperature. Creating the right environment can help us achieve our goals. Consider where you spend most of your time, the people you’re surrounded by, what you spend your free time on, and how these factors affect you.

Flowers need pruning. Sometimes to grow, we need to cut back first. What is no longer serving you? What can be let go of, to allow space for new growth? This can apply to feelings, worries, routines, thought patterns, people, hobbies, and more.

As the weather changes, remember that change leads to opportunity, and you can choose what that looks like. Take this opportunity to reflect on where you are and create a path of growth for yourself.
