We are thrilled to announce the $40,000 grant we received from the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation! As many of you know, last year The WARM Place began a “whole house” renovation with both financial and in-kind support from local donors. We have spent many months meticulously updating the front living room, dining room, and kitchen, and with the exception of new bathroom flooring, the final piece to this renovation is updating the four children’s rooms.
After more than 10 years and thousands of families served in this “house,” these rooms are in desperate need of updates and repairs. For grieving children, these rooms are sacred. They share their deepest emotions. In these rooms, the healing happens.
With this generous grant from the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation, we will begin updating the children’s rooms with new flooring, paint, storage, furniture and other art and amenities to make it comfortable and inviting. We hope to complete this special project by the end of the year!
In the last decade, we have served 680 Arlington families, totaling 1700 individuals – an average of 2.5 children per family. Arlington residents are the second largest population we serve outside of Fort Worth residents!
We are beyond grateful for the generous support from the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation allowing us to complete these home renovations to not only serve Arlington families, but any family, anywhere, whose children need love and companionship traveling on their grief journey. We look forward to keeping you updated on the progress so please stay tuned for more details and photos! Below we have captured a few “before” shots…
